of a fodu lunch! (part 1)

ok, so i may not be a core food-aholic, so what? i love eating, especially if the foods a lot better than the mess food.

The Invitation...
so there was a mail to students i think (or was it ug2) announcing that all dual degree students had a lunch with all the faculty (or so it said). my first reaction was, as expected "get outta here, eatin mess food is bad enough, eating it in front of faculty?? like, i'm supposed in sevent heaven or what?" unfortunately, food is food, and a lunch with the faculty is, well, a lunch with the faculty. so, there i was, in the EW class, stomach growling, me grumblin as always abt how the no of flies in the room had increased from 15 to 16 in one year, how the rooms are 0.1% more dirtier than they were yesterday, how plain-pure-depreciation will get me broke in 5,891.981 years. you get the point, super-bored, torturing anything with 2 legs, and which walked. or sat. preferably one which could not hit me.

My next move...
*shrugs* hey, what could i do? all dual-degree ppl were "expected", so being a law-abiding citizen, i "plough my weary way" there. (Thaenk Ju, Mrs Marathe). so, there like, TWO ppl there, waiting there at 12:37 (im including myself). and the meeting was at 12:30. this is just too typical of IIIT, isnt it? whatever. so after i made sure (a few 100 times) that the other guy was in CSD, we wait kinda impatiently for more ppl to come. so, more ppl come, and we make our move.

Grand Entrance, Enter stage Left... or was that right?
so, at around 12:50, the director started talkin to us, ah.. more lecuring than talkin, initially. so, then we were all made to say out loud, our "objectives and goals" *snigger, snigger* im betting, most of the ppl made theirs up. well, atleast i did. to some extent. like .... 90%? ok, so after that, the MAIN COURSE!!

The Best Part of the Afternoon...
like they say, and the rest was history. that was the best lunch i had had in a fortnight. the last time being Fishland, some obscure eatery, i hate fish :`(. ok, and there was the unmistakable STENCH of chicken. tandoori or something, i was too busy holding my breath to read the little note beside it. oh, and the paneer was real good. so were the sweets. we're gonna have this EACH AND EVERY WEEK!! TAKE THAT, WORTHLESS NON-DUAL-DEGREE PPL...

Back to the Future...
so, another one coming up this saturday, hope the lunch is atleast as good :)). oh, and the only problem is that i'll have to put up with some research group, who plan to give a presentation abt .. something. whatever. cant i make this small a sacrifice for FOOD??!
