Certain people have been complaining (with good reason) about my lack of contribution to this whole bloggy thingy and I've felt for a long time that its high time to put finger(s) to keyboard and type out something for your reading (the word pleasure which is conventionaly used here has been left out intentionally). For that purpose I have thought of a few random thoughts that Ive been thinking about recently.
Well first of all exams are kind of over. You may be wondering how exams can be kind of over but it is true; its like this. After a week of almost back-to-back exams that required a reasonably fair amount of studying we now have a bunch of timepass papers stretched out from the 8th to the 12th. Some people might find that this is no big deal but to me it is like a thorn in my side, a mosquito buzzing around my ear (or up my nose Chomo). There is the wish that all these exams would get over quickly so that we can properly celebrate their passing, besides that the mess food is getting really bad these days (more about that later) so I want to leg it back home to eat some proper home food quickly and I am also twitching to finish constructing the final version of the robot (you could say its currently in the beta trial stage). All these factors have come together to suck me into this twilight zone somewhere between the dark of night and the light of day, where I can niether be happy nor sad, where I can do nothing but wait for the these shades of gray to pass and the world to return to its original technicolor glory (that concludes the flowery, nonsensical and slightly dijointed part of this blog). If I watched cricket it would probably be like watching a pair of Pakistani tailenders hacking away with their bats on the morning of the 5th day of a test match trying valiantly to salvage a draw, you know that theyre going to get out, eventually, so you just keep waiting and waiting, twiddling your thumbs.
Now all this waiting would have been much more bearable if my stomach was filled three times a day with good or even reasonably ok food, but the sad thing is that of late my tummy hasn't really been getting much stuff worth human consumption. I remember a couple of months back that the food in the OBH was actually quite edible (I might not have said it then but Im saying it now). Now its hard to find anything worth eating. The chappattis are made out of 100% super refined maida which means that they are as colourless as Snow White when waylaid by ghosts, they are not at all nutritious, they become as hard as the plate in around 45 seconds and they taste terrible. Now Im a reasonable person so none of this would have been too bad if there was some decent sabji/daal to put into the above mentioned white hard things but everyday it seems to be the same old pasty, half cooked yellow potato-like stuff that gets stuck all around and coats the inside of your mouth. Did I say yellow, pasty stuff? Add tasteless and semi solid and you get a good description of the daal. Forget the rasam and sambhar, I can't tell them apart. Now people might patronisingly say that you dont get anything better in a hostel mess, but the thing is that in the days after what you might call the Cockroach Revolution we did, but now things have slipped back to their old sorry state.
To end this rather long blog entry I think saying something positive is in order, just for the sake of the whole yin and yang thing. Our new canteen is really good. The food is good, fresh and decently priced, its close to the hostel and there is pretty good variety.

Badri's lame idea abt the messblog portal notwithstanding, Ive never heard sir whining b4,not that I 'heard' him whining this time ,but whatever. Is the almighty sir relenting at the daunting beaureucracy that is the mess?? Is he saying that there is nothing ,even his omniscient, omnipotent(i would've said omnipresnt too but i haven't seen him around for quite a while) self can do. Can this be. Noooooooo.........
Nice blog anyways.
